April fool :)

april-foolIn an interview released today, the Google Developer Expert (GDE) Stephan Triglia, revealed an internal project codenamed “Shellfish” from Google, aimed to remove Linux from the Android base software, replacing int with BSD. This move has an unexpected meaning: “as you may know, BSD is the base OS for Mac OSX and iOS, we took this decision because we are going to add an iOS compatibility layer to future Android versions”. This shocking new has huge implications, and at this time Apple refused to comment, but rumors indicate that an undergoing legal agreement is secretly carried on by the two companies. The full stack will include code from other open source projects like OpenStep, and is already at an advanced stage of development “Diversity is not just about people, also apps have te right to run in different environment, and Android has always been an open platform. Future plans will include also Windows Phone and Blackberry and Nokia Series 60 apps” declared Triglia.

This is a huge news for developers, se Droidcon Italy will be the first to embrace the new Google decision, by adding a full new last-minute track, completely dedicated to iOS development.
